Timed Entry

We look forward to having you at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute!

Free parking is available behind the building via access from 15th Street N. The Passport Cancellation Station is located in the BCRI Bookstore.

Please note the following guidelines for your visit: 

• All bags must be smaller than 9.5 inches x 8.5 inches. Larger items will not be permitted inside the Institute. 
• Medical and diaper/baby bags containing essential items are permitted upon inspection.
• No food or drink is allowed in the galleries. 
• No flash photography.
• Artifacts, artwork, and exhibit cases are hands off - please do not touch.

Guests are suggested to maintain social distancing guidelines and wear an optional face mask. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please kindly reschedule for a future date. 

Note for School Groups: Field trips are visits from school groups during the school year, using the dates of the Birmingham City Schools academic calendar. Daycares, summer camps, family reunions, and students that are not touring with a school are subject to the standard admission fee.
